Describe the cover layout-

The layout of the cover has a huge picture of a neuron with the center connection point up front in the center of the magazine. To create the allusion that the neuron is three dimensional the stem of it is covering part of the title of the magazine.  From the cover we can assume that this edition of the magazine is about colleges and universities from the subtitle on the cover.

What colors or text features are utilized?

The neurons are purple, and the connection is bright orange, therefore the color scheme for the cover is purple and orange. They used other bright colors such as yellow in the text for the title of the features articles.

What kind of articles are included and on what pages do they appear?

The articles featured in this magazine are all related to colleges or universities. The first article listed on the table of contents is a question and answer piece. Next is a piece on finding you college match, and thirdly how to pay for college. The theme of the piece continues with other articles on what to look for when declaring a major to what college admission counselors want you to know. The articles seem to be spread out to an extent. The articles listed on the table of contents range from page 4 to page 28, however there are 127 pages in this edition of the magazine.

What advertisements are included and on what pages do they appear?

At first glance it appeared that there were no advertisements within the magazine simply on the inside front cover and on both sides of the back cover. However, going back to look inside the magazine, there are many different colleges pleading their case on why you should attend their school. This did not seem like an advertisement to me because the purpose of this edition of the magazine was to expand subtends views and opinions on colleges and how to the pick the right one. But by adding only certain colleges to ‘sell’ to the reader they would be considered advertisements.

What type of photos appear on the cover, table of contents, and the articles?

There is only one photo on the cover and that is of the neuron connection. On the page of table of contents there are three pictures at the top of the page, each with page numbers of the articles they correspond to. The color scheme on the table of contents is the same color scheme as the cover, just with a lighter pallet.
