Target Audience Research- Science Magazine

Who is their target audience?
Science Magazine, is the peer-reviewed academic journal of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and one of the world's top academic journals. The academic appeal reaches ages 16-30 years old.
How did they market their product?
Their magazine is advertised through other magazines in their field such as National Geographic and Popular Science. It is also advertised in events with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. A large corporation which on its own is huge adverting. When the American Association for the Advancement of Science declared their partnership with the Clinton foundation there was an exclusive article in their magazine, which brought in many new subscriptions.
What persuasive technique were used?
At any American Association for the Advancement of Science event they discuss their accomplishments one being this magazine. The advertisements in the other magazines, are to persuade the reader to branch out to another very interesting and popular science magazine. In the exclusive article with the Clinton Foundation, the rest of the magazine still had their amazing features and articles which the new readers would be looking at and potentially reading after they read the exclusive article in which they bought the magazine for.
What form of media (print, tv, radio, billboards, digital)?
They used tv and digital to advertise for their product. They also have a twitter account where many people who are interested in the American Association for the Advancement of Science follow, there they post free advertisements for their magazine and small summaries of their new article to get readers interested.
What aspects would you use to market your product?
I would like to advertise my magazine to college students and professors in social media and television advertisements.
