Target Audience Research -Muse Children's Magazine
Muse magazine adventures in science, technology, and the arts.
They are writing towards curious kids ages 9 to 14. Muse is the science and
arts magazine for kids that's also appeals to them through jokes.
How did they market their product?
Their magazine is advertised through
other magazines in their field such as National Geographic and ASK. It is also
advertised in their parent magazine, Muse. It was also advertised on Nickelodeon
where the children are more inclined to seeing it and asking their parents for
it.
What persuasive technique
were used?
The commercial on Nickelodeon
had a video of the stars and astronauts with interesting facts, appealing to
kids and with a loud rocket on the screen it holds their attention. The advertisements
in the other magazines, were skewed to influence the parents with simple facts about
the magazine and a subscription card. In the ASK magazine (geared towards
youngers students) they had advertised that as you kid ages you need to get
them a more mature science magazine.
What form of media (print,
tv, radio, billboards, digital)?
They used tv and digital to
advertise for their product. They also have an advertisement and subscription
card in their other magazine, Muse.
What aspects would you use
to market your product?
I would like to advertise my
magazine to both adults and youth in social media and television
advertisements.
